Daisy Hill Fiber Farm

Blue

After much thought over what was best for Blue, for our 'pack' and for us... we have decided to have Blue officially stay at Daisy Hill.  Yes, that may make us poor puppy breeders - as the goal is normally to find dogs new homes.  But sometimes it seems like the home they have is the one they want.  He will stay here with Mom Iden, Dad Justus and Sister Katie and the rest of the crowd.  I have no doubts that he will grow into a unique, strong and wonderful dog.  For those of you that were (slowly) contemplating Blue ... I'm sorry, he's wanted and he's taken.  And for those wanting to know a date for the next litter... we don't have one yet.  Iden and Katie will remain intact, but I anticipate that it may be sometime in 2011 before we will be turning our lives over to puppies again.  Continue to watch litter announcements on the English Shepherd website www.englishshepherd.com and if I can help with breed information or litter referrals just drop me a note!  You can keep up with Blue, Katie and the rest of the Daisy Hill gang on our Blog - which is updated at least weekly.

Welcome home Blue!

Resume

Blue

English Shepherd

Male, 15 weeks old

Seal/White

Goals:

To obtain a position where I can use my skills and talents to their best purpose.

Abilities/Skills:

I have a good strong bark, I sound like a dog much older than my months.  I don’t bark at just anything, I’m discerning in what I alert to.

I’m comfortable around cats, dogs, sheep, llamas, rabbits.  I know they are not prey.  I will sit calmly and quietly and watch any/all of them.  Admittedly, I occasionally move the cats.

I follow at my Human Mom’s heels.  If we’re walking in the dark I know she can not see me so I try not to crowd her, but I make sure she realizes I’m there to help her.  She’s afraid of the dark, but I am not.  While my dog Mom and my sister run on ahead, I make sure that I am within reach of my Human Mom at all times.

At night I know that I sleep in my kennel in the kitchen, I often go to bed all by myself.

I am learning to always potty outdoors.  My submissive piddling is improving daily.

I have sharp teeth and can chew on many things.

I am biddable, one cross word may send me to my kennel or behind the couch.  I don’t need a strong correction, I take direction very well.

I am not an alpha dog, I am a beta dog and can get along with anyone because of it.  I wouldn’t mind an older dog to show me around the place and tell me what to do.

I have been to the Veterinarian three times, and have graduated each time with high marks, wormer and shots.  I need to only go one more time for my final exam.

I have a winning smile and am a real people person.

Employment History:

Part-time work as a home guardian, chore assistant and all around handy man.

Awaiting acceptance into a fulltime position of the same.

Sibling Love

Recently in an attempt to capture a few new photos of Blue I ended up getting some of him and his favorite sister Katie.  They are not an inspired group of photos - but they are new.

They are getting so big!  And Chuck likes to remark on a nightly basis on how Blue is filling out and passing up Katie on size.
