Puppy Updates 6-21-09 - Most recent Update BELOW

Pups are now 11 weeks old, and overdue for their new families.  We're down to 4 available, and eager to start bonding and getting settled into their forever homes.  All went and had their second set of shots and worming on the 20th, and another going over by a different Vet this time.  Glowing health reports once again.  And once again they were a quiet, pleasant group of pups to show off to the world.  They are a happy crowd that enjoys helping with chores, meeting new visitors and doing the various puppy related fun stuff.  More rain has made the mud much more fun to play in.  Green's new owner is a photographer, and brought along a camera when visiting - and graciously sent me photos along with permission to use them.  So I'll try to make do with these, and add some more when I can of the Fearless Foursome that are hoping that you'll pick them as your new family member.  I've updated the Puppy Pages and numbered them.  The most recent information is on Page 3 (this one), but if you want to go back and track the pups from their birth just start at Page 1 and read on through.

Puppies Black (#1), Green (#6), Red (#3) and Katie (#8) have either moved, or are spoken for.  They may continue to show up in group shots, but I won't post individual photos - well, for very obvious reasons.

And a benefit of another photographer is that I'm in a few of the photos this way.

Puppy #2, "Tail" our clear sable, full tailed, female is still waiting for a family.  I'll be adding an updated photo of Tail as soon as I can get her to pose for me.  Or I'll just catch her unawares. Tail is Reserved as of 6-29-09.

Tail is the one giving kisses.

Puppy #7, "Blue", a seal/white, nbt, male is a sensitive soul, and needs a special home.  He needs a quieter household until he can find his purpose and confidence.  He is the one with the face closest to Iden's, yet the body type of Justus, and I have no doubts that his future will be bright.  More photos of Blue forthcoming - he is the only pup available.  If you can provide the right home for this loving guy - get in touch with us soon.

Blue is the guy looking a bit pensive next to my knee.  I think he's just contemplating which sibling to jump on.  (The outfront, full face shot is Katie)

Puppy #4, "Shady", is a shaded sable, nbt, female.  She's an independant young woman and needs a family that understands that she will bond tight and strong, when she's ready, and then be a lifelong companion.  I suspect her work ethic with livestock will be a good one with the right early direction. Shady has relocated to Bonners Ferry, ID.

Puppy #5, "Plaid", is a seal/white, nbt, male.  He is so eager for his new home.  He should grow quickly into an english shadow.  He even speaks child.  Plaid is sold and will be staying nearby (he found his child!).

Even with a ear inside out he's a handsome guy!

And a few more group shots....

Kids and puppies are a good combination.  This is Green's own girl Hattie.

And a final beseeching look by Plaid... how can you say no to a mug like that?!

Litter Status - 7-3-09

We really do appreciate all the interest in our litter.  Its hearwarming to know that there are so many people out there (gesture to the world at large) that are interested in this wonderful breed.  I only wish that I had the ability to match up all potential puppy owners to puppies.  We have sold all but our special pup Blue.  Special because he requires a particular family to bring out his best qualities.  And he has them, in spades...

He's all hot and happy in this photo, and I was a distance away - so any blurring you see has to do with me zooming in.  It ends up being one of the few ways I have to get a photo of him when there is just ME taking photos.  He's an at your feet guy.  Which is how I got this one (another one that doesn't show Blue at his most attractive).  We'll get some more to add to his portfolio!

Blue is a shy guy, I've tried to say it and think it in different ways... but he is shy.  Not in a bite you because he's scared way, more in a piddle a little at your feet while he gets used to you way.   We plan on spending some quality one on one time with Blue now that the litter is gone.  Well, except for Katie, who lives here with us.  The two of them will start their house breaking, and spending time indoors with the rest of the family pack.  But, you see, Blue isn't shy with us.  He's familiar with us, he knows we care and love him - and he gives it right back.  But we will try to do some confidence building so that he can more easily show that side of himself to other people.  Preferrably the people that will fall in love with him and want to bond with him for life.  So we have one pup left, he's a very special sort of guy.  Are you perhaps that special person that he's been waiting for?  Take a good look at some of the shots of Iden's face, thats Blue's face.  And look at Justus' long and lean body, that's Blue's body.  He's a fine combination of his parents, just needs a bit more in the self esteem department.

Final breakdown of puppies (though we're still waiting for some new names - come on folks!):

Pup #1 - 'Black' moved to Rough & Ready, CA  (don't all ES want to live in Rough & Ready?), his new name is Gabe

Pup #2 - 'Tail' moved to Ronan, MT

Pup #3 - 'Red' moved to Fruitland, WA

Pup #4 - 'Shady' moved to Bonners Ferry, ID, her name is now Lori Darlin'

Pup #5 - 'Plaid' moved to Colville, WA, his new name is Angus

Pup #6 - 'Green' moved to Deer Park, WA, his new name is Trusty

Pup #7 - 'Blue' is accepting resumes!

Pup #8 - 'Katie' stayed right at home where she belongs.

Blue Man

So, without a litter to compete with, and his sister Katie at his side... Blue is already relaxing into a different pup.

I'm not sure what the camera was doing with the little light bubbles, but look past them.  There's a happy guy right behind.

And sweet too (despite the demonic eye glow).

And content, all of him, even his cute spotted tummy.

Its been impressive to see him start to blossom.  And put on some weight too!  He's not as willowy as I had first thought.  I think we're looking at a guy that is going to be a fair size and ready to take on life pretty solidly.  Of course, I'm a bit biased. But Katie agrees with me, and if you've met Katie you'd know that her opinion counts - counts for alot!
